Gerard Leo Diaville, 84 years old, beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Great Great Grandfather was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 19, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on December 18, 1937, born to Rita and Newman Diaville, in Plaucheville, LA. He loved to spend time gardening and piddling in his yard, fishing, hunting, cooking, listening to his swamp pop music, his dog, Tiger, but most of all he loved his family.
Gerard is survived by his children, Kathleen Diaville and fiance, Jackie Chapman, Richard Diaville, Tanya Fehr and husband, Warren Fehr, Chad Diaville, and Brad Diaville and wife, Jessica Diaville; grandchildren, Christy Scott, Stacey Thibodeaux, Joshua Roppolo, Justin Hawthorne, Chaston Collins, Amanda Teston, Hannah Spillman, Cade McLean, Morgan Diaville, Madison Diaviile, and Mason Diaville; great-grandchildren, Victoria Morrow, Destiny Broussard, Ashlynn Scott, Lori Thibodeaux, Kaidence Roppolo, Sammy Scott, Chase Thibodeaux, Jayden Hawthorne, Zoey Teston, and Beaux Teston; great great-grandchildren, Jase Morrow, Marleigh Morrow, Wyatt Broussard, Nathan Broussard, and Grayson Thibodeaux; former wife and mother of his children, Jeanette Henderson Diaville; sisters, Fay Bordelon, Christine Bella, Peggy Riche, and Shirley Dufour; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Gerard is preceded in death by his parents, Rita and Newman Diaville; granddaughter, Nikki Roppolo; great-great granddaughter, Isabella Broussard; brother, Phillip Diaville; and sister, Nellie Saucier.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Thibodeaux, Brad Diaville, Buck Hooper, Slade Spillman, Timmy Teston, and Warren Fehr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chase Thibodeaux, Little Sammy Scott, Cade McLean, Mason Diaville, and Beaux Teston,
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on May 24, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will continue at, Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 3458 Hwy. 107 S. Plaucheville, La 71362 on May 25, 2022, from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM, officiated by Fr. Martin Laird. The graveside service and burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, in Plaucheville, LA.
