William Lester

William "Bill" Eugene Lester Jr., 81 years old, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 24, 2020. He entered this world on December 30, 1938, born to Bernice and William Lester, Sr., in Baton Rouge, LA. Bill honorably served his country in the United States Navy in the Korean War as a boatswain mate. He was a member of the Local 406 Union and a lifetime member of the VFW, post 4224. He was a big fan of NASCAR and enjoyed watching the races, along with watching old western movies. He loved to go on vacation and always gave his beautiful wife a hard time in any way he could.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mildred Dillon Lester; daughters, Serita Dugan and husband, Timothy, and Tana Rogers and husband, Mike; son, David Lester and girlfriend, Deshanda Michelli; 7 grandchildren, Crystal, Josh, Casey, Tabitha, Joey, Samantha, and Jessica; 10 great-grandchildren; his favorite niece and cook, Tonya Goldman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Bill is preceded in death by his father, William Lester, Sr.; mother, Bernice Lester; grandson, Christopher Dufour; and 3 sisters.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Lester, Josh Rogers, Casey Dufour, Joey Lester, Samantha Lester, and Jessica Lester. Honorary pallbearer will be Tabitha.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Saturday, December 5, 2020, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service with military honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
