Westa Varden

She passed away June 27, 2013 at Plaquemine Manor Nursing Home in Plaquemine, LA at the age of 93. Westa was a resident of Plaquemine, a former longtime resident of Baker and was a native of Kinder, LA. There will be a visitation at Baker Funeral Home Saturday, June 29th from 9:00 until religious services at 11:00 conducted by Rev. Reggie Bridges. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker. Westa is survived by a son and daughterinlaw, Laney Ray Varden Jr. and wife Connie of Plaquemine, four special nieces, Loretta Young, Pat Bruno, Angela Robinson and Christine Bruce and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Steve Varden of Rosedale and Ron Varden of Addis and three greatgrandchildren, Addie, Brady and Olivia Varden. Preceded in death by her husband Laney Ray Varden Sr., three brothers, Weston, J.D. and Johnny Duplichen and a sister, Esther Romero.
