Virgil Joseph Gautreau, Jr., 76 years old, beloved Father and Friend was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on September 8, 1947, born to Mary and Virgil Gautreau, in Baton Rouge, LA. He proudly served his county in the United States Navy. Virgil loved listening to music, he enjoyed everything from Janis Joplin to Barbara Mandrell. He also loved being on the water, fishing and riding in his pontoon, and messing around with old cars. Most of all he loved to be with his family.
Virgil is survived by his daughters, Jocelyn Troth (Carl) and Robin Gajan; grandchildren, Elise White (Cody) and Ashton Gajan; sister, Lori Gautreau; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Virgil is preceded in death by his wife, Leola Ann Gautreau; father, Virgil Joseph Gautreau, Sr.; mother, Mary Lou Gautreau; brother, Charles and Michael Gautreau; and sister, Mary Ann Gautreau.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 10:30 AM until the memorial service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Deacon Tommy Benoit.
