Vickie Cayten

A resident of Watson, she passed away of pulmonary fibrosis on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Ochsner Medical Center, with her daughter by her side. She was 60, a native of Baton Rouge, and an Administrative Program Specialist for the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 10am until religious services in the chapel at 1pm, conducted by Rev. Danny Allen. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Survived by her mother, Gwen Pulliam Cline daughter and soninlaw, Michele Cayten Jenkins and Ronny Jenkins sisterinlaw, Pam Cayten Allen brother, T.G. Cline grandson, Tanner Jenkins granddaughter, Taylor Jenkins and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and her Fire Marshal family. Preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend, Mike Wedge Cayten father, James G. Cline sisterinlaw, Dane Cayten Campbell nephew, Goo Allen and her motherinlaw and fatherinlaw, Jean and James Cayten. Pallbearers are David Cline, Mark Cline, Ricky Campbell, Todd Campbell, Titus Cline, and Dan Wallis. Vickie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was an amazing mom, daughter, and NaNa. Her grandchildren were the sunshine in her life. She never met a stranger, and was loved by all who knew her. She was a source of great comfort to the families of all of the fallen firefighters in Louisiana. Special thanks to the ICU staff of Ochsner Medical Center.
