Vernon Calvin Corey, 61, resident of Slaughter, LA passed away on August 09, 2015.

Vernon loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and was an avid Alabama fan, hunter and fisherman. He loved riding motorcycles.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Teresa Heifner Corey, son, Joshua Corey, Sr. (wife Amy); daughter, Michelle Antor (husband Ryan); six grandchildren, Joshua Corey (Jr.), Mikayla Corey, Jeramiah Corey, Lily Antor, Ava Antor, and Eden Antor; mother, Jackie Corey (stepfather Pete Newbauer), three brothers, Tim Corey (wife Jackie), Barney Corey (wife Paula), and Donald Corey, Sr. (wife Donna); and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He is preceded in death his father, Calvin Corey; grandmother, Katie Lee; grandfather, Willis Kennedy, Sr.; and two uncles, Charles Corey and Willis Kennedy, Jr.

Family request visiting hours be observed on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 5pm to 9pm at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd, Baker, LA. Visiting hours will resume on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 9am until service time at 11am in the chapel.

Interment to follow Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, LA.
