Heaven's Choir has gained a beautiful alto. Vera, a resident of Baker and native of Shreveport, died Monday evening, Dec. 10, 2018, surrounded by family. She was 81 years old.
Visiting at Faith Baptist Church in Baker, from 5 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13. Visiting after 9 a.m., Friday, Dec. 14, until religious service at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Rev. Arnold Austin. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and James Kelly, Baker; a son Jimmy Dunn, Central; three granddaughters, Amy Dunn Mitchell, Walker; Kay Aline Dunn, Central; and Cece Kelly, Baker; a grandson, Tod Dunn (Cherith Brumley), Ponchatoula; a great-granddaughter, Catherine Mitchell; a great-grandson, Beau Dunn; a sister, Marcia Hinton, West Monroe; a brother, Frank Hinton, Jr. (Brenda), Doyline; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Dunn; son, Johnny Dunn; parents, Frank and Clara Willis Hinton; and three sisters, Katie Jimmerson, Clara Ayres, and Linda Harvill.
She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was retired from the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, where she worked as a bus attendant. She loved her family. She was an avid writer and a great cook.
