Ulysses Lee Pinell, 91 years old, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 9, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on December 31, 1926, born to Julius and Martha Pinell, in Maringouin, LA. He was a veteran of the US Army and US Navy and proudly served his country in WWII and The Korean War. He was a member of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, Thibodaux, Louisiana, a past Grand Knight of Baker Knights of Columbus and loved to dance and travel.
Ulysses is survived by his daughter, Vickie Pinell Thomassie and husband, Ray; son, Reggie Smith and wife, Joyce; five grandchildren, Rick Smith, Brent Smith, Jason Smith, Lacey Erbe and Marcy Thomassie; four great-grandchildren, Kayla Smith, Derrick Smith, Logan Smith and Johnathan Lee Erbe; three brothers, James K. Pinell, Charles D. Pinell and Harold D. Pinell.
Ulysses is preceded in death by wife, Mary Juanita Pinell; son, Richard Smith; parents, Julius and Martha Pinell; brothers, Howard Pinell and Curtis Pinell; and sister, Martha Ann Adams.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, Louisiana, on Sunday, November 11, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The visitation will continue on Monday, November 12, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 10:00 AM, officiated by Father Lamar Partin. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
