NORTON, Torris David Tot
A retired welder with Union Tank Car Company, and a resident of Baker, he passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. He was 83, a native of Galvez, and a US Army and Navy veteran, who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, Thursday, April 8, 2010 from 69pm, and Friday, April 9, 2010 from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am, conducted by Rev. Lewis Morris. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. His is survived by his wife, Shirley D. Norton of Baker one daughter, Tammy Norton Moseley of Cypress, TX two sons and daughtersinlaw, David Chin Norton of Central, and Donnie Nicki Norton of The Woodlands, TX a grandson, Jeffrey Norton of Central two brothers, Otto Norton of Port Allen and Henry Norton of Central and a close friend, Charles Polar. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Hazel Selser, Violet McFarland, Ottie Sequin, and Margie Bourg a brother, Hanson Ficklin, and his parents, Calvin Virginia Dixon Norton. Pallbearers will be Richard Fontenot, Jeffrey Norton, Johnny Hailey, Robert Roth Jr, Charles Polar, and Robert Durnin Jr.
