Tomey Tynes

Tomey Gene Tynes, 73 years old, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend was called to his eternal resting place on June 10, 2018. He entered this world on July 12, 1944, in Gloster, Mississippi, born to Ed and Edna Tynes. He retired from Crown Zellerbach - Tembec after 40 years of service where he worked in the maintenance department. He continued working in the Ice Cream Shop that he owned in Silverton, Colorado, a place he loved, for many years.

Tomey is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Bobbye Brashear Tynes; 2 sons, Troy Tynes and his wife Andrea, and Brandon Tynes; daughter, Holley Tynes; grandchildren, Lyle, Anne Marie, and Stephanie Tynes, Taryne Tynes, and Ananise Hulin; brothers, Marcel Tynes, Quin Tynes, and Paul Tynes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tomey is preceded in death by his father, Edgar Oscar Tynes; mother, Edna Jackson Tynes; and brother, Kenneth Tynes.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The visitation will continue at Baker Funeral Home, Thursday, June 14, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The graveside service and burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Gloster, Mississippi.
