Thomas Young

A faithful and loving husband, father and grandfather, and a resident of Baker, he passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 at Lane Regional Medical Center. He was 83, a native of Perryville, Tennessee, and a retired towboat captain with MidSouth Towing after 35 years of service. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 48pm, and on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from noon until religious services in the chapel at 2:00pm, conducted by Rev. Everett Hurley. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Survived by wife of 45 years, Joanne Jones Young children, Gail Gajewski and husband Brian, Tom Edd Young and wife Rhonda, David Young and wife Tracy, and Kimberly Young and husband Keith Riles stepchildren, Ronny Tucker and wife Orti, Regina Mattox and husband Steve, Robbie Tucker and husband Cecil Cooper, Mark Tucker, and Mike Tucker and wife Amy and numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by two children, Michael Edward Young and Amy Marie Young two brothers, Earnest Lee Chuck Young, and Clyde Earl Young a sister, Opal Mae Dodd and his parents, Clyde Earnest Young and Sally Lee Young. Pallbearers are Ronny Tucker, Deven Temple, Steve Mattox, Cecil Cooper, Keith Riles, and Robert Roche. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Tucker and Colby Riles. Ed loved photography and making home videos, and in his earlier years enjoyed carpentry.
