Thomas Provost

Thomas Charles Provost, 85 years old, beloved Father and Son, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 1, 2024. He entered this world on March 7, 1939, born to Nita and Willie Provost Sr., in Opelousas, LA. He was a 1957 graduate of Redemptorist High School, and a graduate of Draughon Business College, he also attended LSU. He retired after 30 years from the Department of Transportation as an auditor in 1994. For approximately 50 years he also had his own income tax and bookkeeping business. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He was very proud of his family and loved all the activities at assisted living (especially bingo), watching old westerns, and visiting with everyone.

Thomas is survived by his four daughters, Katherine Persac (Rick Albrecht), Karen Moore (Clarence Blumrich), Debbie Braud (Chris) and Lisa Davis (Drew) and their mother, Sharin Braud Provost Scallan; six grandchildren, Jessica Persac Stein, Meagan Moore, Lane Davis, Taylor Braud Williams, Zachary Braud and Alyssa Davis Gardner; five great-grandchildren, Jude, Olivia, Sophia, Lincoln, and Poppy; and numerous of nieces and nephews.

Thomas is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; parents, Willie and Nita; and brother, Willie, Jr.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Albrecht, Clarence Blumrich, Chris Braud, Drew Davis, Lane Davis, Zachary Braud, Jonathan Stein, John Williams and Justin Gardner.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, Baton Rouge, on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM conducted by Father Frank Bass. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
