Retired from the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, he died Wednesday morning, May 19, 2010 at his home in Baker. He was 84 and a native of McComb, MS. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 59pm, and on Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 9am until religious services in the chapel, conducted by Rev. Jay Avance and Dr. Dennis Terry. Interment to follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by wife of 63 years, Ethel Frost Easley of Baker son and daughterinlaw, Stan Katie Easley of Baker a sister, Grace Schmieder of Baton Rouge a brother, Rev. Frank Easley of Slaughter three grandchildren, Thomas Jason Easley wife Amy, Chad Lamar Easley, and Wendy Lynette Easley Watts husband David and five great grandchildren, Emery, Claire Lauren Easley, and Cade Katie Watts. Preceded in death by parents, Thomas J. Grace Turner Easley, and a brother, Robert H. Easley. Pall Bearers are Gary Watts, O. B. Styles, Jess Easley, Neal Easley, John Easley, Hagen Easley, Ray Schmieder, and William Ivy. Honorary Pall Bearers are Jerry Epperson and Richie Bullock. Stump was a lifelong musician, and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Baker.
