A loving husband, father, and grandfather, a resident of Baker and a retired accountant for Dow Chemical with 31 years of service, he passed away on Thursday, December 09, 2010 at 6:27am at Lane Regional Medical Center. He was 71, a veteran of the US Air Force Reserve, and a native of Zachary. After retiring from Dow, Lloyd worked at the LA School for the Visually Impaired for 10 years. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church of Baker, was a member of the Sanctuary Choir, and a Sunday School Director and teacher. He loved music, LSU Football, and golf, and cherished his family. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home on Friday, December 10, 2010 from 69pm. Visiting at First Baptist Church of Baker on Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 9:30am until religious services at 11:30am, conducted by Rev. Jay Avance and Rev. Allen Johnson. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Survived by his wife of 49 years, Margerite Blondie Atkinson Brown of Baker a daughter and soninlaw, Kerri Greg Owens of Burleson, TX two sons and daughtersinlaw, Thomas Lloyd TLloyd Jr. Emilie Brown of Sarasota, FL, and Leonard H. Len Diana Brown of Denham Springs five grandchildren, Jaymes David Brown, Nathan Michael Brown, Daniel Taylor Brown, Allison Leigh Owens and Averie Margaret Owens and brothersinlaw and sistersinlaw, Alice Kent, Wiley C. Bo Judy Atkinson, Sarah Richard Hill, Donna Atkinson, Tommy Dorothy Atkinson, Helen Ronnie Dawson, Larry Nelda Atkinson, Harry Atkinson, and Milli Spruill and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Elmena Brown three brothers, Carvin H. Brown, Wilson Brown, and Jesse Euliece Brown a sister, Linda B. Gore, two sistersinlaw, Evelyn PNut Ficklin Nettie Brashear and brotherinlaw, Walter Joe Atkinson. Pallbearers will be Carroll Efferson, Mickey Gore, Michael Dawson, Kevin Hill, Steven Brown and David Brown.
