Sophie Paine

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strengths. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31

On April 29, 2017, the gates of Heaven opened wide to receive a "special lady". Sophie J. Paine was born November 24, 1917 and passed peacefully at Lane Nursing Home surrounded by family. Sophie was a caregiver most of her life to her husband and many children that she kept at her home for working mothers of Edna, Texas. There was always a waiting list of children wanting to become "Paine's Kids". She was loved by all.

Left to cherish her memories are her only sister, Hazel Grady; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Paine; and daughters, Betty E. Paine and Alice L. Paine.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Edna, Texas at Memory Gardens.

The family would like to thank Lane Nursing Home for the compassionate, loving care that "everyone" there extended to our dear angel.
