Shirley Pilgreen

Shirley Pilgreen, 79, native of Bemidji, Minnesota and longtime resident of Baker, passed peacefully under hospice care at her daughter's Central home after a long battle with CHF and was called to her eternal resting place on April 23, 2016. She entered this world on July 23, 1936 in Bemidji, Minnesota born to Clifford & Helen Holm. She graduated Bemidji High School in 1954 and was immediately employed in the banking industry. She moved to California where she met and married her husband of 35 years John Thomas Pilgreen. She was a long time involved member and Treasurer of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Baker. Shirley was the epitome of the beloved and devoted mother and cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved nothing more than spending time with family but she also enjoyed dancing, playing cards, eating out, watching movies and the Grand Ole Opry show; her all-time favorite country music star was Dolly Parton.

Shirley is survived by her children, Micheal Eric Pilgreen, Diana Joan Pilgreen, Mona Pilgreen Eisworth (Ken) and William "Billy" John Pilgreen; and her grandchildren, Katie Pilgreen Woffard (Glen), Amanda Pilgreen Vollenweider (Corey), Crystal Eisworth Naquin (Jerimee), Ashley Nicole Eisworth and great-grandchildren: Alison Ambrose, Hunter Houston, Makayla & Damon Naquin, Ethan & Emma Woffard, Leah, Macy & Noah Vollenweider
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Pilgreen; parents, Clifford and Helen Holm, mother and father-in-law, Charles and Nettie (Patterson) McLean; and brother-in-law, Travis Pilgreen.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, from 10:30am until the Celebration of Life service begins at 12:00pm. The service will be officiated by Reverend C Milford Walters. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.
