Shirley Braud

A loving and devoted wife, and a former singer with the band Sweet Persuasion, she passed away at her home in Baker on Saturday, May 26, 2012. She was 62, and a native of Bakersfield, CA. Visiting at Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church, 3235 Dalrymple Dr, Baton Rouge, on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 9am until religious services at 10am, conducted by Rev. Gary Peterson. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Survived by husband, Joseph L. Braud, Jr. of Baker daughter and soninlaw, Lisa and Dale Smith of Long Beach, MS son, Paul Patrick of Phoenix, AZ three grandchildren, Shauntelle Smith, Christopher Chatham, and Nicholle Smith and 10 siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mary Mize. Shirley was a member of Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Altar Guild. She loved Joe with all of her heart, and enjoyed good food and good wine.
