A resident of Baker, and a retired bookkeeper and office manager for Southern Scrap and Material for over 25 years, she passed away at her home on Monday, December 20, 2010. She was 90 and a native of Maringouin. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from 59pm, with Recitation of the Rosary at 6pm. Visiting at St. Isidore Catholic Church on Thursday, December 23, 2010 from 11am until Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm, celebrated by the Rev. Fred Youngs. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Survived by three daughters, Sandra Ann Dude Stroughter of Denham Springs, Theodora Lane Minnie Mock husband Allen E. Mock of Baker and Mary Frances LS Wells and husband Bobby Wells of Baker three sons, Barry Bud Allen wife Hoda of Greensburg, Greg Rip Allen of Baker, and Paul Tony Allen wife Karen of Manassas, VA four sisters, Lemerle Burnett, Jackie Abbott, Gerry Butcher, and Patricia Lanier one brother, Francis Abbott 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and seven greatgreat grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Theodore L. Allen a sister, Rowena Leonard grandson, Gregory Michael Goo Allen infant greatgranddaughter, Bonnie Grace Barnes and her parents, Eva Giles Byron Abbott. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jude Mock, Vincent Mock, Victor Mock, Robby Wells, Barry Jude Allen, and Danny Allen. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons Allen Venn and Preston Allen. Shirley was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church since 1961, and was a former member of the Pilot Club of Baker, now known as Main Street Pilot Club.
