Sherry Burton

A resident of Zachary, she passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center Bluebonnet. She was 72, and a native of Starkville, MS. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Tuesday, October 1, from 59pm, and on Wednesday, October 2, from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am, conducted by Rev. Billy Burton. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Survived by husband of 50 years, Johnny Burton daughter and soninlaw, Karen and Paul Deblieux of Zachary three sons and two daughtersinlaw, Byron and Crystal Burton of Zachary, Darren and Peggy Burton of Michigan, and Brandon Burton of Zachary three sisters and brothersinlaw, Dixie Totsy and Thurman Hicks of Baker, Charlotte and Jimmy Austin of Central, and Jackie and Charles Lasseigne of Central a brother and sisterinlaw, Thad and Norma Hawkins of Central eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Dustin, Justin, Devin, CJ, Bridget, Johnny Wayne, and Dalton five great grandchildren, Layna, Jayce, Emma, Gavin, KiLyn and another greatgranddaughter on the way. Preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Ora and W.T. Bill Hawkins and a brother, Jimmy Hawkins. Pallbearers are sons, Byron, Darren, and Brandon and grandsons, Dustin, Justin, Johnny Wayne, Devin, and Dalton. Sherry was a member of Church of God, and she loved fishing and singing.
