Sheridan Jude Centerbar, 66 years old, a resident of Baton Rouge, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 15, 2018, at his home. He was born to William and Irene Centerbar on August 29, 1951, in Burlington, Vermont. Sheridan served his country in the United States Marine Corp. and was stationed in Vietnam and Okinawa, Japan. When he returned to the States he began working for the Burlington Free Press and then began his law enforcement career with Burlington Municipal Police and VT State Sheriff's office of Chittenden Co. He was an avid golfer and bowler and he also enjoyed the slot machines.
Sheridan is survived by his loving wife of 8 years, Theresa "Terri" Centerbar; two sons, William "Billy" Centerbar and Dale Centerbar; step-daughter, Melissa Lee Grant; grandchild, Josh Russin; two brothers, Jay Centerbar and Shawn Centerbar; two sisters, Holly LaCross and Michele Centerbar; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sheridan is preceded in death by his parents, William and Irene Centerbar; brother, Chris Centerbar; and his 2nd wife, Sheila "Candi" J. Centerbar.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until the memorial service begins at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Military Honors will follow at the graveside service in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.
