Sarah Plaisance, 69, entered into eternal peace on Friday, March 23, 2018, at her home in Ethel, Louisiana. Sarah was born on May 23, 1948, to Sherman and Hattie Wood in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was the youngest of six children. In 1964, she married the love of her life, Clyde Plaisance, Sr. During that 53 year marriage they had 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. They would also raise another daughter, Samantha Michelle Deamer.
Sarah's family was her heart and soul. Children always held a special place in her heart and most of her time was spent volunteering in public schools for many years. Her compassion was without limits and although she received accolades for volunteering, the work itself gave her the most fulfillment. She will always be known as "the life of the party" and would go above and beyond to "shock" you. Her door was always open, if you needed her, you could go to her anytime day or night.
Sarah is survived by her husband, Clyde Plaisance, Sr.; her children, Clyde "Joey" Plaisance, Jr and his wife, Theresa Plaisance and Tracie Johnson and her husband, Donald Johnson, Jr.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and numerous family and friends.
Sarah is preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Lynn Plaisance; her brother J.B. Wood; and her parents.
Pallbearers will be Chevy Plaisance, Kent Kinnebrew, David Heil, James Heil, Daryl Guy and Eric Guy.
Sarah's life will be celebrated at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, Louisiana, on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The graveside service and burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker.
