Samuel Henson

Samuel "Dane" Henson, 57 years old, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, on November 28, 2017. He was born to Sammy Henson and Marguerite Babineaux on February 14, 1960, in Baton Rouge, LA. He worked as a carpenter at LSU for many years. Dane enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and most importantly his grandchildren.

Dane is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Debra Jones Henson; son, Thomas Dane Henson; grandchildren, Michael Dane Henson and Annelise Grace Henson; father, Sammy "Goose" Henson and his wife, Barbara; mother, Marguerite Babineaux; sister, Pamela Joy Henson Mosley and husband, Pat; brother, Wracy Wendall Chaney and wife, Deidre; sister in-law, Dolores "Bitsy" Hadskey; his special angel, Kristen "Sassy" Malloy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews. He is also survived by many children who considered him a father.

Dane is preceded in death by his beautiful baby daughter, Emily Ann Henson; sister, Randell Chaney; and his brother in-law, Glynn Hadskey.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until the religious service begins at 11:00 a.m. The services will be officiated by Reverend Paul Raiford. The burial will take place on a later date at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.
