Sam C. Mascarella
A resident of Slaughter, Sam passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was 90, a US Navy Veteran of World War II (3rd Class Aviation), and retired as a Purchasing Agent from Exxon Plastics after 20 years of service.
Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Saturday, June 27, from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am, conducted by Rev. Basil Wicker.
Sam is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce C. Mascarella; daughter and son-in-law, Ramona and Alvin Wallace; four brothers, Tommy Mascarella and wife Pat, Lucien Mascarella and wife Wilma, Marion Mascarella, and Fr. Pat Mascarella; four grandchildren, Blake Mascarella, Heather Wallace Arceneaux and husband Brent, Santana Morris and husband Craig, and Lonica Wallace; and six great-grandchildren, Jace and Bentley Mascarella, Kylie, Kynleigh, and Jaelyn Morris, and Allyson O'Neal.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jace Mascarella; granddaughter, Bianca Jolibois; three sisters, Sarah Mascarella, Marie Johnston, and Josie Johnstone; and two brothers, Collie and Vincent Mascarella.
Sam was a member of First Baptist Church of Slaughter. He will be deeply missed.
