Ruth Martin

A resident of Baker, born April 21, 1921 in Hope Villa, La., she passed away at 3:30 pm Wednesday February 9, 2011 in Baker. She was 89. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home 9:0011:00 Saturday February 12, 2011 with religious services at 11:00, conducted by Pastor Devine Meyers. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. She is survived by three sons and daughtersinlaw, John Lane and Fran Martin, Gene and Linda Martin, and Herbert and Sylvia Martin five grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren and one greatgreatgrandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Martin parents, John and Elizabeth Barksdale Ashford five brothers and two sisters. Pallbearers will be Kevin Martin, Carl Saucier, Malcolm Richardson, Joe Toler, Karl Albritton and Mickey McCall. She was a homemaker who loved her family, she enjoyed needlework and crochet. She was a former member of the United Methodist Women.
