A resident of Pride and a native of Ida, he passed away at 3pm Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Lane Regional Medical Center. He was 75, and a retired pipefitter with Local 198. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 69pm. Graveside service at Bethsaida Family Cemetery, Ida, LA, on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 2pm. Survived by his companion of twentyfive years, Peggy Hodges and her son, Fred Tug Nichols of Pride two daughters and sonsinlaw, Nicole Nikki Bain and Johnny Collins of Denham Springs, and Rhonda Bain and Steve Charleville of Greenwell Springs a sister, Sally Martin of Vivian four grandchildren, Cody and Anna Collins, and Grace and Julia Charleville and his former wife, Zoa Bain of Central. Preceded in death by his mother and father, Lois Armstrong Bain and Roy C. Bain, Sr. Pallbearers are Brian Annison, Brooks Chauvin, Jay Richard, Wayne Thomas, Cody Collins, and Tug Nichols. Roy was a former longtime member of the Moose Lodge. He had a passion for fishing and sports, especially baseball and basketball. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
