Rosemary Estelle Dicharry Childers, Granny

A native of Gramercy, and resident of Zachary, Rosemary died peacefully at 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at the age of 90.

Rosemary was born December 18, 1923, and was a 1941 Graduate of Lutcher High School. She retired as organist for St. Isidore Catholic Church at the age of 80, after 33 years of service.

Visiting at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, Baton Rouge, on Monday, June 23, 2014, from 9:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am, celebrated by Rev. Frank Uter. Interment to follow in Port Hudson National Cemetery.

Survived by two sons, Robert O. Robin Childers Jr. and wife Mitsue of Houston, and Michael P. Mike Childers and wife Linda of Baton Rouge three daughters, Patricia Pat Newman and husband Robert Bobby of Zachary, Kay Cummings and husband Donald of Baton Rouge, and Lynette Lyn Fry and husband Tom of Baton Rouge 16 grandchildren, 22 greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by husband of 60 years, Robert O. Childers, Sr. parents, Gertrude Delavigne and Octave J. Dicharry five sisters, Gladys Denny, Marie Petre, Yvette Moore, Gertrude Bankston, and Nita Lobell brother, John Dicharry two grandchildren, Rachael Estelle Childers and Robert Shedrick Little Bobby Newman Jr and a greatgrandson, Chandler Drake Ellisor.
