Rose Prestridge Hays (86), of Baker, LA, was called to her Heavenly Father on August 12, 2016. She entered this world on July 11, 1930 in Baton Rouge, LA born to Claude and Lillian McGeehee Prestridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Hays; her parents; and her six siblings, Elaine Caston, Elise Noble, C. H. Prestridge, Charles Prestridge, Ralph Prestridge, and her twin brother James Prestridge.
Rose is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Pam Hays of Central, LA and Brent and Penny Hays of Erie, PA; four grandchildren, Amber Anderson and husband Jeramie of Zachary, LA, Brandon Hays and wife Kate of Nashville, TN, Joshua Hays and wife Kayleigh of Pittsburgh, PA, and Andrew Hays of Erie, PA; and two great granddaughters, Evangeline Rose Anderson of Zachary, LA and Hannah Claire Hays of Nashville, TN.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at Baker Presbyterian Church, 3015 Groom Road, Baker, LA on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Graveside service and burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA. Services will be conducted by Rev. Ted Roeling.
Rose loved traveling in an RV with family, gardening, and spending time at her camp on Lake Mary. She worked for 30+ years in the banking industry and was a dedicated volunteer in the City of Baker. Memorial donations can be made to Baker Presbyterian Church, where Rose was a committed member.
