Born February 3, 1947, he passed from this life into eternity on Saturday, July 6, 2013. Ronnie was a 1965 graduate of Baker High School, and soon after, joined the Navy. He served in Vietnam as a Navy Corpsman with Echo Co. 2nd Battalion, 3rd Mar. Div. He received the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Bronze Star, and earned the Purple Heart Medal. He was a wonderful family man, loving his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a retired investigator at LSU. Upon retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and gardening, and painted many beautiful works of art that will be timeless treasures to his family. Survived by wife of 45 years, Louise Gidget McIntyre son, Jon Donovan McIntyre soninlaw, Rick Wilkinson five grandchildren, Sean, Zackary, Joshua, Katie, and Sara Wilkinson sister, Kathryn McIntyre Smith and husband Sammy aunt, Mary Thoms uncle, Shirley Davidson brothersinlaw, Mike Pierce and wife Ellie, Greg Pierce and wife Betsy, and Stephen Pierce and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by daughter, Dr. Kathryn Wilkinson, DVM parents, W.N. McIntyre, Jr. and Gwyma Moore McIntyre brothers, Billy McIntyre III and Michael McIntyre motherinlaw, Helen Pierce and sisterinlaw, Barbara Pierce. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 911am, followed by a procession to Port Hudson National Cemetery, 20978 Port Hickey Road, Zachary, for inurnment with military honor at 11:30am.
