Ronald Leo "Ronnie" Brown, 79 years old, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on December 6, 1944, born to Bessie and Leslie Brown, in Baton Rouge, LA. He was affectionately known to many as Little Man. He was a long-time faithful member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Eunice Smiley Brown; his only daughter and son in-law, Becky and Kelly Walls; step-daughters and sons in-law, Melissa and Chop Rayner, Denise and Jimmy Garig, and Kim and Steve Jelks; grandchildren, Hayden and Peyton Walls; step-grandchildren, Madison Rayner, Kathryn, Karla, and Kevin Garig, and Taylor Jelks; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Brodie Jelks; brothers and sisters in-law, Julius and Yvonne Brown, Leslie Wayne "Buddy" and Judy Brown, and Russell and Janet Brown; sisters and brothers in-law, Norma and J.P. Accardo and Arlene and James D. Hodges; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his father, Leslie Harelson Brown; mother, Bessie "Tot" Brashear Brown; step-son, Barry Smiley; step-grandchild, Chase Jelks; brother, Barry Brown; and sister, Diane Crutchfield.
Serving as pallbearers will be Hayden Walls, Peyton Walls, Leslie "Buddy" Brown, Julius Brown, Russell Brown, Danny Crutchfield, and Philip Accardo.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, officiated by Fr. Frank Bass. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
The family would like to express their appreciation to The Hospice of Baton Rouge, Dr. Gene Thompson, and a special thanks to Brenda Buckley for the care and compassion provided.
