Robert J. "Bob" Neese, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, died on Wednesday, November 25, at St. Joseph Hospice Carpenter House, following a lengthy and courageous fight with cancer.
He was 62. Bob was a graduate of Baker High School and of LSU, where he earned a degree in broadcast journalism. At various times during his professional career, he worked at WJBO, WVLA, WBRZ, and The Advocate. He served a stint as EBR School System spokesperson, and he retired in April, 2015, following 20 years of service at Louisiana Public Broadcasting. Bob was a self-taught musician. For over forty years, he performed as lead singer and keyboard player in many local bands, most recently in the group, Feliciana. He was an active member of the Capitol Correspondents group and he performed for over thirty years in the group's annual Gridiron Show.
Bob is survived by his sister, Alice Neese Barnette, and her husband, Donald; niece and Goddaughter, Brooke Barnette; nephew, Brandon Barnette and his wife, Jessica; Godfather, Ray Porta; Godson, Luis Owen; stepmother, Audrey Neese, and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Rose Alice Porta Neese, and his brother, Bill Neese.

Visitation will be held at Baker Funeral Home on Sunday, November 29 from 5-8pm , and from 9-11am on Monday, November 30, with a memorial service to follow.
