A resident of Baker and a retired purchasing agent, he passed away at his home on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 9:20pm. He was 93, and native of Illion, New York. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, having served in the 56th Medical Evacuation Group in North Africa and Italy. He earned several medals, including the EAME Theater Ribbon with four bronze battle stars. Graveside services with military honors will be at 9am Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Port Hudson National Cemetery, Zachary. Survived by two daughters, Claudia Gerard of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and Laura Klaczek of Park Ridge, Illinois a sister, Eleanor Angell of New Hartford, New York three grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Carpenter Angell brother, Howard Angell and his parents, Howard Angell and Margaret Hamilton Angell.
