ECKLES, Richard Foster

A resident of Zachary and a native of Baton Rouge, Richard Foster Eckles passed away at 12:30am on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 at Lane Regional Medical Center at the age of 77. He was a US Navy veteran, and retired from Georgia Pacific with 30 years of service. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd., Baker, on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 from 12pm. Graveside services at 2pm Friday at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, conducted by Rev. Dennis Allen. He is survived by his wife, Marie Eckles a stepdaughter, Lynn Sanders a stepson, Keith Smith three stepgrandchildren, Cary Shelly Booth, and Chelsea Sanders numerous step great grandchildren, and all of his friends at Georgia Pacific whom he thought of as family. Richard was a Christian man and loved the Lord. He enjoyed gardening and yard work. Special thanks to all of his doctors, and to a true friend, Maurice Kramer of Metairie, for such good care given.
