Richard Joseph Bordelon, 81, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to everyone, was called to his eternal resting place on June 22, 2016. He entered this world on September 14, 1934 in Bordelonville, LA, born to Wilmore and Carrie Bordelon. Richard served in the US Army. He was a faithful member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. Retired from Sunbeam Bakery where he was only known as "Poncho".
Richard is survived by wife of 60 years, Marie Bordelon; his 3 daughters, Eunice Wright and husband Robert, Ann Briggs and Debra McDonald and husband James; grandchildren, Cassie Irick, Shannon Wright, Heather Briggs; and great-grandchildren, Mikie Irick and Josie Irick.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents Wilmore and Carrie Bordelon; 1 sister and 3 brothers.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd., Baker, Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The visitation will continue at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Rd., Baton Rouge, Friday, June 24, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Father Frank Bass will officiate the services. The burial will follow the services in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.
