Rev. Simmons

A retired Pastor and resident of Zachary , he passed away December 3, 2011 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center on Bluebonnet at the age of 71. A native of McComb Ms., he was born July 1, 1940. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home 59 Tuesday December 6, 2011 and from 9:00 am Wednesday December 7, 2011 until religious services at 2:00 pm in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Danny Greig. Interment to follow in the Milldale Baptist Church cemetery. He is survived by his wife Marjorie Simmons, 2 Daughters, Melanie Smith and Monica Simmons and husband Tom Bosley. 1 Son Thomas G. Simmons III and wife Rebecca, an adoptive son, Ray Cobb, 1 sister, Evelyn Miller, 1 brother, Henry Gene Simmons Sr. and wife Evelyn, 2 sistersinlaws, Mary Margaret Simmons and Thelma Simmons. He was also survived by 7 grandchildren, Kristen Ott and husband Curtis, Melissa Holt and husband Jonathan, Michelle Hunter and husband Hogan, David Pierson, Marie Smith, Travis Simmons and Jessica Lynn Simmons and 2 greatgrandchildren, Charlie Holt and Dillon Hunter. Preceded in death by his parents, a son, Sidney Scott Simmons, soninlaw, Donald Smith, 1 sister, Mary Ruth Vaden and 3 brothers, Thomas Walter Simmons, Edgar T. Jack Simmons and Billy S. Simmons. Pallbearers will be Lieutentant Todd Gaguard of the Thibodeaux Police Department, Dallas Bookenberger of the Terrebonne Sheriffs Dept. and members of the Dirty South Chapter of the Brothers in Blue, the only chapter in Louisiana. Honorary pallbearers will be Davis Pierson and Travis Simmons. He was a former Board Member of the La. Baptist Convention.
