Raymond Joseph Millet, a resident of Baker went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 91, born to Norris and Mercedes Millet on April 17, 1926. Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Yeoman 2nd Class during the Korean War. He retired from Exxon after 44 years of employment.
Raymond is survived by his three daughters, Margaret M. Vermillion, Mary Beth Millet, and Kathleen M. Waller; two sons, Michael G. and his wife Faye M. Millet, and Ray J. and his wife Michelle O. Millet; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Raymond is preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris Mouch Millet; parents, Norris and Mercedes W. Millet; sister, Marie M. Cambre; two brothers, Norris and Morris Millet; and son in-law, Bill Vermillion.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Knight, Randolph Comeaux, Jacob Millet, Wayne Cambre, Keegan Knight, and Gerald Perrero.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Sean Belding, Derek Comeaux, Dustin Knight, and Lucas Millet.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The visitation will continue at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, Baton Rouge, LA on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Frank Bass. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker, LA.
