Ramona Dyess

Ramona Lopez Dyess, 88 years old, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 12, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on October 31, 1930 born to Erlenda and Charlie Lopez Sr., in Brenham, TX. She was affiliated with the Greenwell Springs Hospital gift shop for 22 years and spent an additional 7 years with the Lane Regional Medical Center Auxiliary gift shop. She retired from AT&T with 35 years of service and she was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Baker.

Ramona is survived by her daughter, Sharon Denise Burdette and husband Jimmy; two grandchildren, Kevin L. Burdette and wife Tennille, and Karen D. Burdette; six great-grandchildren, Kiley and Jameson Phillips, Khrystin, Emilee, Madison and Ava; and brother, Charlie Lopez, Jr. and wife Thelma.

Ramona is preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Dyess; parents, Charlie Lopez, Sr., and Erlenda Cubero Lopez; and brother Rudy Lopez.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Burdette, Calvin McRaney, Richie Dyess, Chad Griffin, Chris Griffin, Robbie Hodges and James Housley.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road. Baker, Louisiana, on Friday, February 15, 2019, from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will continue at Faith Baptist Church, 15880 Plank Road. Baker, Louisiana, on Saturday, February 16, 2019, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Arnold Austin and Reverend Paul Ballard. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.

The family would like to give a special thanks to The Crossing at Clarity Hospice and to Dr. Daniel LaVie and staff at Mary Byrd Perkins for their outstanding care and love that was shown to our sweet mom.
