Peggy went to be with her savior on April 21, 2014 after a short struggle. She is free of these earthly boundaries and able to enjoy her perfect heavenly body. She was born on March 11, 1937. She grew up in Hammond and Angie, Louisiana. She was a resident of Baker for more than 50 years. Peggy was a proud retired educator. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Zachary, La. She was a devoted wife, mom, grandmother and greatgrandmother who loved to cook, shop and make crafts and gifts for her family and friends. She never met a stranger and enjoyed life to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold F. Leggett, and her father and mother, Gordon and Mavis Gould.
She is survived by her husband Fred St. Amant, three sons and their wives Harold and Cheryl Leggett of Zachary, Travis and Marilyn Leggett of Natchez, Mississippi, Billy and Susie Leggett of Zachary, and a stepson and his wife, Jeff and Mary Jo St. Amant of Gonzales. She had 4 grandsons Jarred Leggett, Zachary Leggett, Brendan Leggett and Logan Leggett. She had 7 granddaughters Kristin Williford, Michelle Taylor, Jessica Snowbarger, Miranda Seyfarth, Jessica Michgelson, Madelyn Schellang and Morgan St. Amant. She had 10 great grandchildren. She had an extended family in Hammond and Angie, La. She loved them all.
Visitation will be at Baker Funeral Home in Baker, La on Wednesday, April 23 from 5:30 7:30 pm. Visitation will resume on Thursday, April 24 from 10:0011:00, with Celebration Service at 11:00. Rev. Keith Cox will officiate the service and interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker. The pallbearers that will serve are Jarred Leggett, Zachary Leggett, Brendan Leggett, Logan Leggett, Andy Taylor, Josh Snowbarger, Brad Seyfarth and Peter Michgelson. Peggy asked that everyone celebrate her life. The family asks that instead of sending flowers please donate to your favorite church or charity.
