Peggy Smith

Peggy A. Hess Smith, born in Berryville, Virginia, a resident of Baker, LA, passed away November 1, 2017 at 3:40 p.m. at the age of 77, after several bouts of congestive heart failure. She was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School. She was a member of the Baton Rouge Jaycee Jane's from 1970-1985. She worked until 1988 and after becoming a grandmother, she dedicated her heart and time to her grandchildren.

Peggy is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Curry Don Smith, Jr. and Jeffrey Paul Smith and wife Connie; her daughter, Patricia Smith Hall and husband Gerald W. Hall, Jr.; four grandchildren, Courtney Elizabeth Smith, Kyle Matthew Hall and wife Brittney, Christen Paige Smith, Kadi Marie Hall and fiancé Jacob Still.

Peggy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Curry "Catfish" Don Smith, Sr.; her father, Lambert W. Hess and mother, Madeline Hess DeMoss (MeMe).

Pallbearers will be Chris Englade, Brian Hall, Gerald hall Sr., Ross Boudreaux, Jimmy Roy, Mitch Smith, and alternates Jeff Hall and Jacob Still.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Deacon Shelley Joseph.
