A homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and a resident of Baton Rouge, Mickey left this earth at 3:39am on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. She was 76 and a native of New Orleans, but lived in many places. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 59pm. Visiting at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, Baton Rouge, on Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10am, celebrated by the Rev. Frank Bass. Interment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. Survived by two daughters and sonsinlaw, Denise and Jimmy Callahan of Central, and Colleen and Shane Cross of Baker a sister and brotherinlaw, Mary and Don Brouillette five grandchildren, Monique Wallace and husband Miah, Britney Knight and husband Jeff, Brett Gerald, Gregory Cross, and Hunter Cross and three great grandchildren, Kennedy and Reagan Wallace, and Brittain Addison Knight. Preceded in death by her husband, Rogers Brittain a son, Kelly Brittain and her parents, Andre and Marguerite Lamousin. Pallbearers will be Brett Gerald, Jeff Knight, Hunter Cross, Miah Wallace, Darrell Gerald, and Buddy Barnett. Mickey was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and The Altar Guild Society. She was always ready to bake a cake for church functions or the schools her children attended. Since she never drove a car, she depended on the kindness of her wonderful neighbors. She was very creative she did ceramics, made pine baskets, and enjoyed scrapbooking before it was called scrapbooking. She kept a log of every camping trip ever taken with her family, and made every trip an adventure. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Mickeys special friends, Pat Richard, Sue Keebler Gros, Christine Richardson, and Mayola Brant and to Dr. Patrick Stagg and staff, and to St. Joseph Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Hospice or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
