A resident of Baton Rouge, and a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Ora Mae Blount went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. She was 80, and a native of Ansley, LA. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 58pm, and on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am, conducted by Dr. Kevin Hand and Todd Blount. Interment to follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Henry Blount a daughter, Glenda Schutz of Central three sons and daughtersinlaw, Ronell and Penny Blount of Clinton, and Craig and Janet Blount of Zachary, and Alan and Nancy Blount of Central grandchildren, William Schutz and wife Lisha, Wendy Schutz Roberts and husband Daron, Brandi Blount Martin and husband Joel, Jason Blount, Todd Blount and wife Kerri, Kayla Blount Wales and husband Tyler, Cody Blount, and Brandon Blount great grandchildren, Preston and Dylan Roberts, Zane and Bennett Schutz, Hailey and Cameron Martin, Piper and Peyton Blount, and Tristin and Jude Blount two brothers, Bobby Truett and Sam Truett and a sister, Alice Palmer. Preceded in death by her father, Robert Truett mother, Louise Truett Foster brother, Joe Truett and a granddaughter, Jenny Schutz Bishop. Ora Mae served many years teaching childrens Sunday School and volunteering at Marys House of Bread. She was an active member of Zoar Baptist Church, and loved gardening, cooking, crafts, and spending time with her family. Special thanks to Regional Hospice caregivers.
