Norman "Nift" Steven Keith, 86 years old, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 6, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on September 14, 1934, born to Lottie and Jack Keith, Sr., in Plaquemine, LA. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.
Norman is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Myrtis Brashear Keith; daughters, Gwen Gajan (Robert), Susan Daigle (Matt), and Stephanie Keith; 5 grandchildren, Joshua Gajan (Kristina), Steven Gajan (Kyndal), Jeremy Gajan (Karah), Courtney Sykora (Jay), and Kailsee Gajan (Josh); 6 great-grandchildren, Landon, Amelia, Braxton, and Beckett Gajan, Evelyn and Charlotte Sykora; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents, Lottie and Jack Keith, Sr., brothers, Jack Keith, Jr., David Keith, Sr, Henry Keith, and Nolan Keith; and sisters, Ellen Dupree, Lorraine Keith and Amelia Alleman.
Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Gajan, Steven Gajan, Jeremy Gajan, Jay Sykora, Jack "JP" Dupree, Timmy Schlatre, Troy Landry, and Bobby "Bubba" Brashear. Honorary pallbearers, Robert Gajan, Matt Daigle, and Josh Charpentier.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Pinnacle Hospice Team, Lauren, Schemeika, Wren, Monica, and Shelley for the wonderful support and service provided.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to a charity of your choice.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, on Monday, August 9, 2021, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 12:00 PM, officiated by Father Frank Bass. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
