Nellie Brashear

A resident of Baker for over 75 years, she passed away at 6:10am on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at her home. She was a 92, a native of Crosby, MS, and a retired cafeteria manager for St. Isidore School with over 20 years of service. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 from 59pm, and on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, from 10am until religious services in the chapel at 11am, conducted by Rev. Danny Greig. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. She is survived by three daughters and two sonsinlaw, Louis Marie Boudreaux of Zachary, Jean Ann Ronnie Riley of Frisco, TX, and Bobbie Faye Tomey Tynes of Slaughter a sister, Betty Johanson of Zachary a brother, Gene Taylor of Baton Rouge 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 greatgreat grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Joseph Leon Brashear sister, Lorraine Lovett infant sister, Marie Taylor three brothers, Russell, W.D. Harvey Junebug Taylor, and soninlaw, Raymond Boudreaux. Pallbearers will be Troy Tynes, Brandon Tynes, Leon Boudreaux, Josh Boudreaux, Clayton Riley, James Broussard, Gordon Hanna, and Randy Chaney. Nellie was a longtime member of The Merry Whirlers Dance Club and Good Sams Campers Club.
