Myrtis Keith

Myrtis Brashear Keith, 82 years old, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 29, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on August 10, 1940, born to Eunice McCulloch Brashear and Jesse Brashear, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.

Myrtis is survived by her daughters, Gwen Gajan (Robert), Susan Daigle (Matt), and Stephanie Keith; 5 grandchildren, Joshua Gajan (Kristina), Steven Gajan (Kyndal), Jeremy Gajan (Karah), Courtney Sykora (Jay), and Kailsee Charpentier (Josh); 8 great-grandchildren, Landon, Amelia, Braxton, Beckett, Kamryn, and Ellie Gajan, Evelyn and Charlotte Sykora; siblings, Madeline Bueche, Margaret Nolan, Charlotte Marshall, Jessie Drago, Faye Gaudin, and Bobby "Bubba" Brashear; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Myrtis is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Norman Keith; her parents; and sisters, Betty Lee and Bessie Krumholt.

Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Gajan, Steven Gajan, Jeremy Gajan, Jay Sykora, Josh Charpentier, and Bobby "Bubba" Brashear. Honorary pallbearers, Robert Gajan and Matt Daigle.

The family would like to express their appreciation to The Oakwood Village in Zachary, LA, Lane Regional Medical Center ICU team and Our Lady of the Lake Critical Care team for the love and care they have shown our mom.

In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or a charity of your choice.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Monday, July 31, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with the rosary recited at 6:00 PM. The visitation will continue at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
