Murphy Sullivan, Jr. went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2017, one day before his 87th birthday. He was a retired salesman, and coached boys in baseball for fifteen years in a church league winning several state championships. He later umpired baseball for several years. Murphy never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He was born to Murphy Sullivan, Sr. and Iola Sellers Sullivan in Denham Springs, Louisiana.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edith Sullivan, and three children, Judy Breaud, husband Jerry Breaud; Debra Hayes, husband Tommy Hayes, and Marsha Clark. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Daryl Hayes, Charla Hayes Budde, Adam Hayes, Melissa Breaud Green, Jeremy Breaud, Monica Sullivan Reid, and Erica Sullivan. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Murphy Sullivan, Sr. and Iola Sellers Sullivan, and his brother, Charles Sullivan.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until the religious services begin at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Gary Richerson. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, LA.
Pallbearers will be Daryl Hayes, Adam Hayes, Jeremy Breaud, Corey Green, Mark Reid, and Thomas Budde.
