Michael Laney

Michael “Mike” Dean Laney, 67 years old and a resident of Baker, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 30, 2021. He entered this world on August 31, 1953, born to Billy and Deanie Laney, in El Dorado, Ar. He was a member of Bethany Church.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Judy Boyd Laney; children, Paul Laney and Laura, Melissa Laney, Brian Dedon and Kristen, Corey Dedon, and Gerald Dedon and Leslie; 7 grandchildren, Sidney, Locke, Matt, Nick, Jacob, Avery, and Liam; two sisters, Kay Laney Lambert and husband Rick, and Debra Laney Smith and husband Dodd, all of Ventress; sister-in-law, Debbie Singleton Laney of Baton Rouge; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, William “Billy” L. Laney; mother, Bernadine “Deanie” Dupont Laney; and brother, William Denton Laney.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mike, Kevin and Cade Kimbrell, Ryan Laney, Kevin O’Neil, Matt and Nick Major. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Dustin Smith.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on February 3, 2021, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
