Everydays a good day some are just better than others. A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, Mike passed away at his home on Monday, November 18, 2013. He was a member of the Baker City Council from 19721976. He served as Mayor of Baker from 1976 until 1981, when he was elected to the Louisiana State Senate, where he served until 1996. He was the youngest city council member and mayor elected in the state at that time. Mikes love for people and his desire to help others is what led him to seek public office, and he continued to serve others long after. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. Ecclesiastes 3:18. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to St. Joseph Hospice for their support. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. Joseph Hospice, or your favorite charity.
