Melanie McLin Spears, of Baton Rouge, passed away at her residence on September 19, 2021, at the age of 66. Melanie was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, godmother, cousin and wonderful friend. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was a 1973 graduate of Glen Oaks High School. She enjoyed worshiping God, playing bingo, cooking, and visiting with her friends. She was a brave breast cancer survivor.
She is survived by her sister, Theresa McLin Samaha, Baton Rouge and goddaughter, Katie Poche' Hector, Denham Springs.
She was preceded in death by her father, Peter Lance Mclin; mother, Rose Langlois McLin; her husband, Richard Dale Spears; and lifelong friend, Linda Anne Poche'.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at St. Alban's Chapel at LSU with visitation from 2 pm - 4 pm until religious service at 4 pm conducted by The Reverend Andrew S. Rollins.
