Mary Ettace McCoy Roush, 83 years old, beloved Mother and Grandmother, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 30, 2022. She entered this world on September 28, 1939, born to Ethel McGehee and Tru Earl McCoy, in New Orleans, LA. Mary honorably served her country in the United States Marine Corp. She was a member of Slaughter United Methodist Church. She retired from Louisiana House of Representatives after 30 years of service. She loved her fur babies and enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband and children.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Susan Lorraine Roush; sons, Robert Glen Roush and John Henry Roush; grandson, Peyton Glen Roush; brother, Bill McCoy; special friends, Pam Smith and Annette Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Walter Arnold Roush; parents; brothers, Theldon Ray McCoy and Booty McCoy; and sisters, Patty McCoy, Violet Stanfield, Maxine Maglone, and Georgia Lee Key.
Pallbearers will be Noah Maglone, Joel Maglone, Randy Maglone, Michael Taylor, John Roush, Robert Roush, and honorary Pallbearer, Peyton Roush.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Slaughter United Methodist Church, 828 East Ave, Slaughter, LA, on Friday, January 06, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM officiated by Chaplain Ernie Phelps and Clergy of United Methodist Church. Graveside service will be held at a later date at Port Hudson National Cemetery.
