Jean Wall Powell

Jean W. Powell of Baker, passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center on July 2, 2023, at the age of 90. Her children and grandchildren were the loves of her life.

She is survived by her son, Bill Powell (Mary), daughter Carol Powell Roshto; grandchildren Brandon (Katie) Powell, Amber (Shaun) Doiron, Brian Roshto, Willo Powell; great-grandchildren William and Lucas Powell, Callie and Kaitlyn Doiron, her beloved cat, Tiggy, step grandchildren Alecia (Matt) Smith, Rachel Goodman and step great-grandchild Isabella Lindsly.

Preceded in death by husband of almost 60 years, Lewis C. Powell; parents Williams G. Wall and Bonnie M. Mitchell, step father Thomas "Jack" Mitchell, daughter-in-law Carol K. Powell, son-in-law Steven L. Roshto, sister Joyce Poole.

Visitation will be Thursday July 6th, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with service to follow at Baker Funeral Home, Baker, La. Service to be officiated by Jason Kennedy.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Powell, Shaun Doiron, Mike Day, Michael Schexnaydre, Michael Sumerford and Ricky Tourere. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jay Rachal, Reggie Landry, Mike Landry, Timothy Hughes, Mitchell Walsh, and Glenn Tokoph.

The Family would like to give special Thanks to the Baker Fire Department/Brownsfield Fire Department, First Responders, EMS staff, Our Lady of the Lake staff and physicians, Dr. Denzil Moraes, and Dr. Mark Mouton for the care that she received.
