Mrs. Woodrow Patton was born February 3, 1924, in Clarks, Louisiana to the union of James Petty and Clarice Madison Keene Smith. She went to be with the Lord after a long, hard battle with multiple major health issues on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 8:55pm. She was 88 and a resident of Baker. Mary was a very special person who was greatly loved by everyone that knew her. She was a wonderful mother to her daughter, Stephanie Clarissa, and grandmother to her grandson, Jonathan Patrick, whom she loved dearly. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a dedicated homemaker for over 58 years. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 10am until religious services in the chapel at 1pm, conducted by Chaplain James Dawson and Rev. Dennis Allen. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie Clarissa Patton Ducote and husband, Brian A. Ducote of Prairieville grandson, Jonathan Patrick Ortis of Prairieville sister, Doris Faye Blackman of Columbia, Louisiana and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Woodrow Wilson Patton brother, James M. Smith and her parents, James P. and Clarice M. Smith. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Ortis, Matthew Ducote, Bruce Falgoust, Randy Stelly, Jason Ferhrenbach, and Vernon Ducote. The family of Mary Patton would like to give special thanks to the staff of Hospice in His Care, especially Samantha, Yvonne, and Diane and a very special thank you to all of the staff at Old Jefferson Community Care, especially to Zandra, Jennifer, Marie, Brenda, and Renee who were extra thoughtful and attentive in their care to Mary for over 18 months.
